The monks of Mary Mother of the Church Abbey have devoted their lives to prayer and apostolic work that has served as the foundation since the time of our founder, our Holy Father Saint Benedict, in the first years of the 6th century. This 1,500-year old tradition of seeking God together as a community of faith provides us with a fundamental root both for living in God’s love and for serving as His instruments to proclaim the Gospel to a world in greatest need of experiencing our Lord.
Each has professed vows of obedience, stability, poverty, and chastity. This incredible commitment is made so that they may better seek God and serve their community. This monastic community is not insular and cut off from the world, but a part of it.
We ask that you look within yourself to see if God is calling you to serve.
