                    2024 Spring Presentation Schedule

                         Shroud of Turin Center

February 17th –  An overview of the Shroud’s principal characteristics, an outline of its history and a discussion of the scientific exploration of it over the last two centuries.

February 24th – An in-depth exploration of the Shroud’s history starting in Jerusalem, then Antioch, through Constantinople, surviving the Fourth Crusade, moving to France, into the Dutchy of Savoie, and finally to Turin. At each stage, we explore how the Shroud influenced Christians who were aware of its existence.

March  2nd – A review of the scientific studies done on the Shroud from the late 19th Century onward. We’ll explore the results of the various studies done including the radiocarbon dating done in 1988, alternative techniques used to derive estimated dating of the cloth, the blood studies done, the connection between the blood on the Shroud and the blood found on Eucharistic miracles, pollen study results, image studies to determine the nature of the image and other studies performed all of which support its authenticity.

March  9th   –   An overview of the Shroud with the latest updates

March  16th  –   A history of the Shroud of Turin

March 23rd  –  A review of the scientific studies performed on the Shroud

We’ll use a full-sized, true-color image of the Shroud to illustrate many of the aspects discussed in the presentations. The discussions will be supported by a PowerPoint presentation. These presentations are free and open to the public, so please plan on attending.

All presentations are free and open to the public. In addition, during the 2024 Lenten season (February 14 – March 28), every Saturday the Shroud Center will provide presentations on the different aspects of the Shroud.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
